Selamat Datang is welcome in Malaysian language. This site is not only open to all Malaysians who reside in the state of Illinois but we encourage people with Malaysian connections to visit us wherever you are around the globe. If you are planning to visit, study or work in Illinois, you have come to the right place. We will assist you to get acquainted with life in this Mid-West state.

RSVP and Contest Registration
This is a reminder to RSVP to the evite sent to you via email about the Open House. If you are attending, please also inform us if you are entering the Kueh Raya and Kueh Tradisional contests. All kuehs have to be submitted at the time of registration to be qualified. If you have kids under 12 years old, please enroll their names to participate in the Baju Raya contest. It's always fun to see our kids parading their costumes in pride. Remember, there are a lot of prizes to be won.
Parking for Aidil fitri Open House on 9/18/2010
We have made arrangements with the Northfield Police Department and also the Northfield Park District Director to use the Sunset Ridge school parking lot for our guests (approximately 150 meters from the venue). Please park your cars at the school parking lot (approximately 100 spaces available) because we have very limited parking space at the venue (20-25 spaces). “NO STREET PARKING IS ALLOWED”. Police will issue tickets for violations of parking rules.
The school address is: 525 Sunset Ridge Road, Northfield, IL 60093 (cross street of Willow and Sunset Ridge). Click here for directions.
Additional parking is also available at Erickson Woods Forest Preserve, which is closer to the Clarkson Park Building. Direction from south : I-94 Exit East Willow and sharp turn left to Erickson Woods (huge signboard at the entrance)
Direction from north : I-94 Exit Tower Road turn south on frontage road, turn East on Willow (I-94 bridge) and sharp turn left to Erickson Woods
Direction from I294 : Exit East Willow ( I-94 bridge) and sharp turn left to Erickson Woods.
Be prepared for our Annual Golf and Soccer Tournaments
Our annual Golf tournament is coming up soon. Brush up your golf swings and prepare to enter the tournament. An invitation will be sent out soon.
The 4States Soccer Tournament is brewing up too. This is the time to team up and start practicing to compete in the 1st annual game. Look for the invitation email soon...
Salam Aidil Fitri 2010
We have created a Holiday Greetings page for those who wish to send greetings to their families and friends for this Aidil Fitri season. For details, please click here.
The Aidil Fitri event is coming up soon. It's going to be the biggest event co-hosted by 1MAI and MSD. We estimate an attendance of more than 500 people, which will include Malaysian professionals, students and their families. We are going to officially launch 1MAI and promote this website. A registration booth will be open to facilitate the 1MAI membership drive among the attendees. A representative from the Malaysian Embassy will be present to launch our association, along with representatives who sponsor our events. There will be contests, entertainment and a special Silat Gayong demonstration, courtesy of Silat Gayong USA. Don't miss the food and the fun.

The organizers encourage a donation of $1 per person, which will make you a member of our Association (we are legally registered with the State of Illinois as of 09/03/10), and a donation of $5 per person from guests (non-members).
